At least that's what I think you call it...the thingie that you can make a little display of your shop items....
ANYWAY...can we use it on our profile page here at DaWanda Shopping Community? If so, where will it work? I tried in one of my fields on my profile page but couldnt get it to work.
Any other ideas of places to use it to help promote our shops and DaWanda? I put it right on my blog as soon as I could get it to work;-)
Sorry Karla... I've been away and missed your post... let's see...
You can add a DaWanda widget to your page on http://dawandashopping.ning.com/. All you need to do is look under your profile box and there will be a text box. Press 'edit' and add the DaWanda code from your shop.
You can find your DaWanda shop code by logging onto your DaWanda shop page... at the bottom of your shop page there is an 'integrate these products with your website button'. Press that and you will be taken to the screen where you can make your widget. Choose your row and column numbers (how many you want to show) and choose your colours (you can press preview here if you want to). The code is then worked out for you, so all you need to do is copy the text in the little box and paste this into your page on http://dawandashopping.ning.com/. Once you press save your page here will reload with the shop link showing.
You can use it on your blog, website, myspace, indiepublic page... mostly other social networks where it lets you add an HTML code I think.
I still have the same problem as Hannah...and after I copy and paste and save, when I go back in to try again all the code has disappeared. There must be something we are doing differently, I just dont have the html or java knowledge to figure it out:).
Sara, when you say to wait a bit~ has it ever just not showed up once it was saved and then go back awhile later and its there?
Yes... sometimes Ning is slower to recognise new code, when a lot of us are active. So my advice is leave it on there and see what happens over the next week. If you are still having problems I will see if Ning can help us... but please leave the code there, so I have something to ask them about.
Hi Hannah,
I have just tried it on my page and it does work ok, It doesn't work if you put in in other boxes though... you need to add it to the box in between your profile box and your photos box. You can add it by pressing 'Edit' on the side of that box and press 'Save' once you have finished.
I'm just waiting for an answer from Ning on this issue... it may also be a problem at DaWanda's end... please test your banners on your personal and blog websites. If they do not work there either then it is a problem with DaWanda's code.
It is working on my blog, www.thyme2dream.blogspot.com (In my post from 29 June about the Eurpean Championship special)...but I notice that it didnt work when I tried to have it in a blog post AND on the side bar at the same time...we have a lot of sidebar widgets here on this site, so maybe that is the problem? Someone with more technical knowledge might be able to use that as a clue perhaps?
