Hi I opened up my jewellery shop about a month ago, but just starting to find my way around. Glad to see there are a few Scottish peeps on this! Drop by my shop for a look around!

Hi Ali. I'm also new and still finding my way around. Just had a look at your shop and your jewellery is beautiful. Do you make your own clasps, if you don't mind me asking?

I have been thinking about working with PMC but am also starting a Silversmith course in September and can't wait to make my own clasps.

Hi there,

PMC is brilliant to work with, I also do silver smithing, but swap between the two. The clasps are handmade with PMC.

Good luck on your silver smithing course. I would recommend you do a short course in PMC to get you started. I did a couple of evening classes to learn the basics.

Thanks for the advice Ali. I know they do short courses at the same place they do the Silversmith course. So will look into it.

I'm hoping to buy myself a kit soon too just to get going. But I'm worried there might be stuff in a kit that I don't need, and that I'll have to buy lots of extras I do need. I'm sure I'll also have some expenses for silversmith goodies. So might hang tight for a while to see what I need to get first.
